Can we join the Artic Circle Club?

Yes, I know you guys did it in Norway, but Alaska counts too right? :-)

Well, I hope we can because it took some driving to get there! Well, by Dan, I was -snoring in the passenger seat. Hehe. (to be fair, this was only for about an hour of an 8 hour trip, but I know he'll take the mick if I don't mention it). We had another day of driving up and down some serious gravel tracks in the artic tundra and amoungst the fabulous colours on our way up there. This really is the time to visit Alaska (with heated seats) as the colours are amazing :-)

Dan found some rocks and as usual, had to climb them:

Disco Rob, the travelling Landy Bear:

Charlie behaving impecably, Dan kept trying for 6th gear as we were flying along! Unfortuantly, someone else travelling the road was quite inconsiderate and flicked up a rock putting a nice 12" crack in Charlies windscreen... still, after about 1,000 miles of gravel tracks we havn't done bad if that's the worst that happened.

We got to the Artic Circle about 2pm had some chicken soup and bread and headed back south again! Still, it was worth it.... wasn't it?! :-)

One for J of the U:

Denali National Park tomorrow, seem's strange to be starting the 'south' and soon 'east' part of the trip already, but as I'm loosing the feeling in my hands typing this I have to say I'm looking forward to California!

Hope all of you going to 7 Sisters have a good time. Missing you all.

Jen

Cheesy Artic Circle pic to go with the Alaska cheesy pic:

Well guys well done for getting into the arctic circle. As for being able to join the club you were there so you def get the memebrship, however i must comment on the apparent lack of the white stuff. You will just have to come with us the next time we go!! Glad things are ok I have just got back from driving the support truck for a guy who has cycled 1111 miles from Truro to Aberdeen, also i have got a new job start in the new year. Do you need me to fly over with new windscreen or have you phoned autoglass they can repair chips you know? Keep it right side up!

You two are obviously having far too much fun - we haven't had a stats report for ages ;o)

Summer seems to have finally arrived here in the UK. If we're lucky it looks like it may stretch to 4 days this year.

Yo happy people.
Do we luv the news about Artic Circles. Nearest I ever go was on the barges in the North Sea, such a long way up it was terrible! But that was a long time ago. One of these days you pought to stay in one place to recuperate.
Oh yes, I could really do with a new pair of those yellow cow hide cowboy type gloves. Phyllis threw mine away last week as I had all sorts of duck tape and insulation tape wrapped around all fingers where the holes were! If you see some lying around grab a pair, about Dans size pinkies will do.
